The work week got off to a rough start for Southeast DC resident Davida Johnson, 25, who was arrested on Monday, May 8, following a dispute in the parking lot of the Joseph Curseen, Jr. and Thomas Morris, Jr. Processing and Distribution Center in the 900 block of Brentwood Road.

According to police, the verbal dispute outside the facility with another woman escalated, and Johnson took out of a gun, shooting her victim.

Johnson was apprehended by US Postal Inspectors, and the victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation of what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

The initial investigation determined that the incident was domestic in nature, though no additional details were provided by the police.

Following her arrest, Johnson was charged by the MPD with assault with a dangerous weapon (gun). No information about her initial court appearance has been announced.
